The Phoenix Suns have confirmed that Kevin Durant (suffering from a left ankle sprain) and Bradley Beal (dealing with left toe soreness) will not play in Saturday’s game against the Denver Nuggets.
Grayson Allen, who had been listed as questionable due to left knee soreness, has also been ruled out. Mike Budenholzer, the Suns’ coach, mentioned pregame that Allen’s availability was still uncertain, later describing the injury as “a day-to-day thing.”
Allen had a standout performance in the Suns’ 135-127 victory over the Utah Jazz on Friday, contributing 21 points, including a buzzer-beating 3-pointer that forced overtime. He’s averaging 11.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2 assists per game this season.
Durant has already missed two consecutive games due to the injury sustained in Monday’s loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. Earlier in the season, Durant missed 10 games due to a left calf strain and ankle sprain. He’s been averaging 26.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.
Budenholzer believes Durant’s injury is short-term and expects the recent two-game rest to be beneficial.
Beal, who has been sidelined for 14 games this season due to various injuries (elbow, calf, knee, hip, and ankle), is averaging 17.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.
Rest of the Suns-Nuggets Injury Report:
The Denver Nuggets have listed Jamal Murray (left knee inflammation) and Michael Porter Jr. (left hamstring tightness) as questionable, while Aaron Gordon (right calf injury management) is considered probable for Saturday’s game.
Russell Westbrook (left hamstring strain) and Peyton Watson (right knee sprain) have both been ruled out.
The Suns vs. Nuggets game will tip off at 7 p.m. MST from Footprint Center and can be heard on 98.7 FM and the Arizona Sports app.
