Ipswich Town is gearing up for further squad enhancements this summer, as they reportedly agree to another transfer deal.

The Tractor Boys commenced their Premier League journey on Saturday, facing Liverpool at Portman Road. However, their return to top-flight football did not start as hoped, with a 2-0 defeat.

Despite this setback, Ipswich is aware that their survival in the Premier League will not hinge on performances against elite teams like Liverpool.

This weekend presents another formidable challenge as Ipswich travels to the Etihad to face Manchester City in their first away game of the season.

Despite the difficult start, Ipswich remains focused on bolstering their squad, with reports suggesting they are closing in on signing another defender.

Since securing promotion to the Premier League, Ipswich Town has been extremely proactive in the transfer market, with Kieran McKenna receiving significant backing to reshape his squad.

The club has already added nine new players, including Jacob Greaves from Hull City, Liam Delap from Manchester City, and Omari Hutchinson, who has returned on a permanent basis. Additionally, they secured Kalvin Phillips on loan from Manchester City and recently signed Championship top scorer Sammie Szmodics.

McKenna has been intent on strengthening all areas of the pitch, and now Ipswich is reportedly interested in Burnley defender Dara O’Shea.

Journalist Alan Nixon, as relayed by The 72, claims that Ipswich is keen on signing O’Shea in a deal potentially worth £10 million. However, they face competition from Brentford, another Premier League side, which could complicate matters.

O’Shea appears willing to take his time in deciding his next move, which might prompt Ipswich to consider alternative defensive options.

In addition to bolstering their defense, Ipswich is also poised to enhance their attacking options. Reliable journalist Stuart Watson, relayed by Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, reports that Ipswich has agreed to a deal with Chelsea to sign striker Armando Broja.

The transfer is subject to a medical, but if successful, Broja will join on a season-long loan with a mandatory purchase clause if Ipswich avoids relegation. This clause, reportedly worth over £30 million, would trigger a permanent move at the end of the season.

Despite a challenging loan spell at Fulham last season, where he failed to score in eight appearances, Broja is still highly regarded for his potential.
