Ipswich Town is reportedly in advanced negotiations to secure two key players from the Sky Bet Championship as manager Kieran McKenna aims to strengthen the team’s defense and enhance their attacking options.

According to The Times, Ipswich has made a ยฃ15 million offer for Sunderland winger Jack Clarke, with talks between the clubs progressing swiftly, as reported by the East Anglian Daily Times.
Clarke, a 23-year-old who emerged from the Leeds United academy, has been a standout performer for Sunderland. Last season, he netted 15 goals and provided four assists, following a previous season where he was involved in 24 goals across all competitions.
Clarke began his senior career with Leeds United in 2018, scoring twice before securing a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur in 2019. However, his time at Spurs was marked by limited playing opportunities, leading to loan spells at Queens Park Rangers, Stoke City, and eventually Sunderland.
Clarke made a permanent move to Sunderland in 2022 and has already contributed a goal and an assist in the opening two matches of the current season.
Simultaneously, Ipswich is also engaged in discussions with Sheffield United regarding the potential acquisition of Anel Ahmedhodzic. The Bosnia and Herzegovina international, who has also represented Sweden, has made 74 appearances for Sheffield United since joining them in 2022.
Ahmedhodzic played a crucial role in the Blades’ promotion to the Premier League, where he made 31 appearances in the top flight last season. His addition would bring valuable Premier League experience to Ipswich’s defensive lineup, which currently lacks top-tier expertise.
In addition to these transfer pursuits, Ipswich is on the verge of announcing the signing of Armando Broja on a season-long loan from Chelsea. Broja’s arrival would mark Ipswich’s tenth signing of the summer, further bolstering their squad as they aim for success in the upcoming campaign.
