Triple Olympic champion Gabby Thomas is set to attend the New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 3, where she’ll show support for the athletes participating in the event.
As she enjoys her off-season with vacations and media tours, Thomas recently shared on her X (Twitter) handle her enthusiasm for being part of the marathonâs cheering crowd.
Though she wonât be competing, Thomas is thrilled to support her favorite runners and expressed her deep respect for everyone set to compete. Taking on the role of Grand Marshal, she aims to make the marathon a memorable experience for all involved.

Thomas has enjoyed an impressive season, securing three gold medals at the Paris Olympic Games, where she won the 200m, and contributed significantly to Team USAâs victories in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. She also took home a silver medal in the 200m at Athlos, Alexis Ohanianâs women-only event.
Thomasâ presence at the marathon promises to inspire the thousands of runners taking part. Defending champions Hellen Obiri and Tamirat Tola are leading the womenâs and menâs elite fields, determined to retain their titles.
In the open division, the top finisher will claim $100,000, with the second and third place finishers earning $60,000 and $40,000, respectively. Organizers will distribute awards to the top 10 runners in the event.
