Cowboys Fans Think Jerry Jones Is Lying About Trade Secret

The Dallas Cowboys suffered a third consecutive loss, going down 27-21 to the Atlanta Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Now at 3-5, Dallas faces a tough path in the NFC East, especially with quarterback Dak Prescott’s future uncertain after sustaining a hamstring injury.

Prescott began the game well, helping keep Dallas competitive with accurate passes. Late in the second quarter, he connected with running back Rico Dowdle for a 3-yard touchdown. Although Dowdle nearly lost control of the ball, the play briefly revived the Cowboys’ offense. By halftime, Prescott had completed 13 of 17 passes for 102 yards, with Dallas trailing 14-10. However, early in the third quarter, Prescott left the field limping and was soon ruled out for the rest of the game. Backup quarterback Cooper Rush stepped in, managing to keep the Cowboys close, but Dallas ultimately couldn’t overcome Atlanta.

Following the loss, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made some puzzling comments, suggesting a possible change in approach before Tuesday’s trade deadline—seemingly reversing his previous stance on trades this season.

“We’re going to do everything we can at all times to improve this team, and in our judgement, if what you have to give up helps improve it, we’ll do it,” Jones stated. When asked directly about a potential trade, he responded, “It takes two to tango, but we’ve got some things in the mix.”

Jones also hinted at possible strategic shifts, despite voicing concerns over the team’s performance.

“We’ll probably do a couple of things this week of note, if things work out the way we’d like for them to,” he noted. “Bottom line is if you knew exactly what to do this wouldn’t be the game that it is in the NFL.”

However, fans remain doubtful, pointing out that sacrificing draft picks or bringing in a short-term player contradicts the Cowboys’ previous stance on preserving cap space—leading many to accuse Jones of bluffing.

In summary, Cowboys fans are questioning whether Jones is just making these claims to keep the team in the headlines.

The abrupt trade openness clashes with Dallas’ usual conservative stance on asset management and cap space, adding confusion to the team’s direction.

As Dallas gears up to face the Philadelphia Eagles (5-2) in Week 10, they’ll need Prescott’s recovery and any impactful moves Jones might make to prevent further decline in the NFC East standings.
