A rival manager has suggested that Chelsea are among the favourites to win the Premier League title this season, despite some downplaying this idea.
Enzo Maresca and several players, including Nicolas Jackson, have tried to minimize Chelsea’s chances of winning the title. Jackson, for instance, mentioned that he doesn’t pay attention to the standings and smiled when asked about Chelsea being just two points behind Liverpool after their 2-1 victory over Brentford the previous night.
While Jackson and others may be downplaying their position, it’s clear they are aware of it. However, Brentford manager Thomas Frank disagrees and believes Chelsea should be considered title contenders, especially after his team’s loss to Chelsea.
Frank stated after the match:
“We went toe to toe with the number two in the Premier League, one of the favourites to win the title.”
He continued, “I know they don’t want to talk about that but look at their players, look at the money they’ve spent, look at the way they play, they are well-coached, all they deserve is only praise.”
While Chelsea may still have some defensive issues, Frank argued that if they keep securing victories, the title conversation will be impossible to ignore.
