Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2024 Christmas card offers a glimpse into their life in California, showcasing a rare and heartwarming image of their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. In the photo, the two children are seen running towards their parents, with their faces obscured. Lilibet, three, is approaching her father, while five-year-old Archie races toward his mother. The couple has been careful to keep their children’s faces out of the public eye.
The card also features their three dogs, including their new beagle, Mamma Mia, who was adopted two years ago. Mia, who is now nine, was rescued from an animal testing facility and later adopted by Harry and Meghan. Shannon Keith, from the Beagle Freedom Project, shared that Meghan reached out to express interest in adopting a beagle, and during an after-hours visit, the couple chose Mia over the younger puppies. Keith recalled Meghan saying, “We want ones we can help who are older,” adding, “The duchess is holding Mia and was like, ‘We’re adopting her’.”
The Christmas card, sent via email, includes a message from Prince Harry and Meghan’s team: “On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful New Year.” Six images are featured in the card, reflecting the couple’s year, including one of Meghan with a young girl and another of Harry embracing his wife. Other photos show the couple laughing with friends, attending an outdoor event, and Harry holding hands with a man in a bed.
The Sussexes’ Christmas card is an ongoing tradition, despite their departure from royal duties nearly five years ago. While they have not always included their children in these cards, they are keen to maintain their privacy. A close friend of the couple shared earlier this year that Harry is committed to protecting their children’s privacy and safety, explaining, “He wants them to lead as normal a life as possible without the fear of kidnapping or h
arm.”
