Ipswich’s ‘Shock’ Victory Against Spurs and Wolves: Is Arsenal’s Invincible Reputation on the Line?

Ipswich, currently struggling in the relegation zone, are set to face one of their toughest challenges of the season as they travel to the Emirates Stadium to meet Arsenal.

Despite their position, Ipswich have surprised many this season with unlikely away wins at Spurs and Wolves, raising questions about Arsenal’s invincible record at home against promoted teams.

Arsenal enter the match as heavy favorites, having won 84.2% of the 10,000 Opta simulations, and are on a 10-match unbeaten streak in all competitions.

However, they’ve been dealt a major blow with star player Bukayo Saka sidelined for several weeks due to injury, along with other key players like Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Arsenal will need to rely on the form of Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz, both of whom have been in excellent scoring form.

Ipswich’s away form has been their strength this season, with both of their wins coming on the road, although they are still expected to struggle against a team with Arsenal’s quality.

Despite their difficult position and a 76.9% chance of relegation according to Opta, Ipswich could pull off another shock result against Arsenal, who have been unbeaten in 41 home matches against promoted sides.

This meeting will be the first league clash between the teams since 1984, and Ipswich will be hoping for a breakthrough after 11 winless away games against Arsenal.

While a win for Ipswich remains unlikely, they could force a draw, a result that has appeared in 10% of the simulations.

Can Ipswich’s unexpected away form unsettle Arsenal’s record, or will the Gunners continue their dominance at home?
