What’s Next for the New York Mets? Bold Predictions Following Juan Soto’s Historic Deal

The New York Mets’ historic 15-year, $765 million contract with Juan Soto has sparked excitement across the baseball world. Steve Cohen, determined to secure Soto, outbid even the rival New York Yankees, signaling the beginning of a new era in Queens.

The potential for the Mets with Soto in their lineup is limitless, and there are several bold predictions for what could unfold during his time with the team.

The Mets Add a Pitching Superstar

While the Mets’ offense looks strong with Francisco Lindor and Soto set to hit back-to-back, their pitching staff still needs attention. The team could look to sign Japanese phenom Roki Sasaki, a young star with an electric arm. Though Sasaki’s contract will be limited by amateur international free agency rules, the Mets could offer a competitive deal that provides him with an opportunity to make an immediate impact.

    The Mets Win 100+ Games

With a core including Soto, Lindor, and potentially Pete Alonso, the Mets are in prime position to surpass 100 wins. If the team can maintain health and a few favorable outcomes, they could be contenders for a high win total in 2025, mirroring Soto’s impact on the Yankees’ success in 2024.

Juan Soto Wins MVP in 2025

After a career-best 2024 season, Soto is poised to shine even brighter with the Mets. With protection from Lindor ahead and Alonso behind him, Soto is positioned for another remarkable season. This setup gives him an excellent chance to secure his first MVP award in 2025.

    Pete Alonso is Re-signed

Alonso’s future with the Mets is uncertain as he enters free agency. However, letting him go after securing Soto would be a mistake. With Soto, Lindor, and Alonso in the lineup, the Mets would form one of the most dangerous trios in baseball, making them nearly impossible to pitch around.

    The Mets Win Multiple Championships

Cohen’s investment in Soto comes with championship aspirations. If Soto meets expectations, the Mets could compete for multiple titles over the next decade. With a solid core and potential pitching upgrades, the Mets have the foundation to build a dynasty and win multiple championships.
