British teenager Divine Iheme has broken the 60m sprint world record for his age, setting a new best of 6.71 seconds at the BFTTA Indoor Series in London on January 5. This marks the second time Iheme has surpassed the previous record, set by J-Mee Samuels in 2003, with a time of 6.74. Iheme’s remarkable performances come after he ran 6.72 seconds in his first race and improved upon it in his second. His achievement places him fourth on the UK U18 all-time rankings for the 60m sprint, just 0.02 seconds behind the record held by Mark Lewis-Francis. With this win, Iheme continues to make history in youth athletics, demonstrating his potential to reach even greater heights.
