Christian Clark of The Athletic mentions that Daniel Gafford, despite having a strong season and being a valuable piece alongside Dereck Lively II, could be a trade candidate. While moving Gafford might help the Mavericks achieve their goal of acquiring a versatile wing, it also poses risks given their rebounding challenges this season. Alternatively, Dallas might explore trading other players or picks while retaining Gafford.
The Mavericks, currently 22-19 and seventh in the Western Conference, remain optimistic about a championship run. With hopes of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic returning to consistent play, they aim to strengthen their roster. Adding a scoring wing with defensive skills could significantly improve their prospects.
