Timberwolves Land Youngster on NBA Rising Stars Roster

The Minnesota Timberwolves have had an inconsistent season after their impressive run to the Western Conference Finals last year. Chris Finch has been working on adjusting to the new roster, with Julius Randle still being an unusual fit. However, recent victories over the Denver Nuggets and Atlanta Hawks show the team may be finding its rhythm.

Leonard Miller, who was selected by the San Antonio Spurs with a second-round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, has been part of the Timberwolves since they acquired his draft rights for two future second-round picks. Though Miller hasn’t seen much NBA action in his first two seasons, he’s been strong in the G-League.

Leonard Miller to Play in 2025 NBA Rising Stars Game
As the NBA All-Star weekend approaches, Miller was recently announced as a participant in the 2025 NBA Rising Stars Game, taking place from February 14-16. This recognition comes after his impressive play for the Iowa Wolves. In 16 G-League games, he’s averaging 24.4 points per game, shooting 50.9% from the field, 36.1% from three-point range, and grabbing 11.8 rebounds per game. Additionally, he’s contributing 3.3 assists per game, showing significant improvement over last season.

This marks Miller’s second selection to the Rising Stars Game, joining Canadian rookie Zach Edey on the roster. Unfortunately, fellow rookie Rob Dillingham did not make the cut.

While Miller has only played in four NBA games this season due to a crowded Timberwolves rotation, at just 21 years old, he has time to develop. Competing against top rookies and sophomores in the Rising Stars event could be a great opportunity for his growth.
