Blair Spittal has opened up about how Alistair Johnston trash talks during matches, sharing that the Canadian defender called him a “b****” last season. Spittal was playing on the left for Motherwell when he scored his first goal of the campaign against Celtic. His standout performances earned him a move to Tynecastle, where he continued to impress with his goal-scoring form for Hearts. When the teams met again at Celtic Park, Spittal once again found the net, but Johnston still targeted him with some psychological games. Spittal recounted the incident on the Open Goal podcast: “He called me a b** last year to be fair. I think I was one-on-one with him, or something like that, and the ball had broke between us.” He continued, “I think he asked me to take him on. He said, ‘Go on, take me on you little b**’. I think I called him out. I went ‘That’s a bit uncalled for isn’t it’?”
