Arsenal owners KSE issue apology amid Josh Kroenke statement

A statement from Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) has been released following the confirmation of a significant deal. The Kroenke family, who own Arsenal, also oversee several American sports teams, including the Los Angeles Rams, Denver Nuggets, and Colorado Avalanche.

Stan Kroenke’s business portfolio extends into real estate and media, including Skycam and Altitude Sports and Entertainment. However, despite owning both the Nuggets and Avalanche, KSE had been unable to broadcast their games on Altitude due to an ongoing dispute with Comcast, the nation’s largest cable provider.

For the first time since 2019, Xfinity TV customers will now be able to watch Colorado-based teams through Altitude, marking the end of the dispute.

Kevin Demoff, KSE’s president of team and media operations, acknowledged the frustrations caused by the situation, saying:

“The first thing we have to do at KSE is just look at our fans and say, ‘I’m sorry,’ and ‘We’re sorry.’ Every day that went by for the past year was a game too many — too many shots, too many goals that were missed for our fans. We took that responsibility very personally.

“This was priority No. 1 for the Kroenke family, to make sure these teams got back on the air. And so from that perspective, it’s a great day. But it’s also a day that should’ve happened long ago.”

Josh Kroenke also expressed his excitement about the resolution, stating:

“We are thrilled to once again make Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche games available on Comcast and Xfinity platforms in Colorado and the surrounding region. This is the best possible outcome for Nuggets Nation and Avs Faithful, who now have a straightforward way to see every game on one service.”

Meanwhile, the Kroenkes have faced criticism from Arsenal supporters after Mikel Arteta failed to secure new signings in the January transfer window despite repeated appeals.

Arteta explained the club’s approach, saying:

“We had a clear intention which is always there is a window open to explore the opportunities to improve our squad with players that can impact it.

“We haven’t achieved it so we are disappointed in that sense but as well we are very aware that we only want to bring certain kind of players and we have to be very disciplined with that as well and I think that we will.”

Arsenal’s lack of reinforcements was further scrutinized after a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup, during which Gabriel Martinelli also sustained an injury. With attacking options depleted and goals drying up, Arteta hopes the team’s upcoming break in Dubai will provide a much-needed boost ahead of the season’s final stretch.
