The latest injury report on Anthony Davis will only make Dallas Mavericks fans feel worse about trading Luka Doncic.
On Saturday, Davis exited his Mavericks debut early after suffering a non-contact injury during a game against the Houston Rockets. ESPNโs Shams Charania reported that Davis was diagnosed with a left adductor strain and will likely be out for โmultiple weeks.โ
The 9-time All-Star had an outstanding performance before leaving, scoring 26 points, grabbing 16 rebounds, dishing out 7 assists, and blocking 3 shots in the 116-107 Dallas win.
Injuries have plagued Davis for much of his career. In fact, heโs only played over 70 games in 3 of his 12 NBA seasons. So itโs no surprise that the injury bug has struck again in Dallas.
Davis was well aware of the criticism the Mavericks received after trading away Doncic. Just a day before his debut, he made a heartfelt promise to Mavericks fans, hoping to alleviate their disappointment. Instead, the pain has only grown with his immediate injury.
