Orlando Magic Eye Veteran Star from Suns in Potential Offseason Trade

The Orlando Magic made waves in the 2025 NBA playoffs, impressing many despite missing key players like Mo Wagner and Jalen Suggs due to injuries. Even without their full roster, they put up a strong fight against the Boston Celtics.

Following their postseason performance, analysts believe the Magic may be just one significant addition away from becoming a real threat in the East. With Paolo Banchero blossoming into a premier star and Franz Wagner steadily improving, Orlando’s future looks promising.

Now, as the offseason approaches, speculation has begun about who the Magic might pursue to bolster their lineup.

CBS Sports’ Sam Quinn floated the idea of a trade with the Phoenix Suns—but not for Kevin Durant or Devin Booker. Instead, he proposed targeting Bradley Beal.

    > “He obviously has a no-trade clause, but he’s a University of Florida alum and he’d be joining a better team, so the Magic could potentially get him to waive it. The obvious benefit here is that he could be had for matching salary and likely nothing else,” Quinn wrote.

While Beal’s five-year, $250 million contract and his no-trade clause pose challenges, his veteran presence and scoring ability could make a major impact in Orlando. Still, it’s a high-risk move.

Since joining Phoenix, Beal has struggled to find rhythm alongside Durant and Booker, failing to replicate the form he once displayed with the Washington Wizards. Injuries have also plagued him during his time with the Suns.

Over the past two seasons, the former All-NBA guard has averaged 17.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.3 assists.
