“We Beat Them Before”: Jerry Jones Vows Cowboys Will Reclaim NFC East from Super Bowl Eagles

Frisco, TX — With unshakable swagger and a silver star gleaming in his eye, Jerry Jones is already rewriting the NFC East narrative—months before the first snap of the 2025 NFL season.

“We won the division the year before, so we beat them,” Jones fired confidently during a post-draft media session. “I expected to beat them when we started off this year and didn’t expect them to be the champions.”

A jab? A challenge? Maybe both.

Despite the Dallas Cowboys’ 7-10 skid last season that kept them out of the playoffs, the ever-optimistic Cowboys owner isn’t bowing to the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Instead, he’s stoking the rivalry, igniting expectations, and reminding fans that his team stood atop the NFC East just over a year ago.

“I don’t look at a far-apart action with Philadelphia,” Jones insisted. “I have probably as much respect for them as a team as anybody in the NFL. Injuries hurt us a bit last year.”

Those injuries—most notably to Dak Prescott, Trevon Diggs, and DeMarvion Overshown—crippled Dallas’ momentum. But with those key stars on the mend and OTAs at The Star in full swing, the Cowboys are showing early signs of resurgence.

Now, with free agency settled and the NFL Draft in the rearview, Jones sees a window cracking open—and he’s ready to storm through it.

The war of attrition that defines every NFL season may have buried the Cowboys last year, but in true Texas fashion, Jones isn’t playing defense anymore. He’s going all-in.

Cowboys fans might ask: Can Dallas really leapfrog both Washington and the reigning champs?

    Jones has his answer ready.

“They got going and they are world champions,” he said of Philly. “But I know this… 13 months ago, we’re sitting here winning the division.”

The message is loud, clear, and dripping in bravado: The Cowboys aren’t just coming—they believe they belong.
