Chelsea’s Next Cole Palmer? BlueCo Plotting Sensational Move for “World’s Best No.10” – Fans Can’t Believe It

Chelsea fans, buckle up—another summer shockwave is brewing at Stamford Bridge! With the Club World Cup just days away, the buzz around Enzo Maresca’s side isn’t just about the pitch action in America—it’s about what could be a seismic transfer coup behind the scenes. The Blues might be ready to unleash Palmer 2.0.

As the team prepares to face LAFC in their opening Club World Cup fixture, attention is firmly split between game tactics and transfer theatrics. With Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernández likely to feature and young talents like Liam Delap eyeing debut moments, Chelsea’s present and future are coming into sharp focus. Yet, it’s a familiar name from the Bundesliga making waves in London once more—Xavi Simons.

According to Football London, Chelsea are still actively monitoring RB Leipzig’s dazzling playmaker, Xavi Simons, with BlueCo reportedly preparing for an audacious swoop to bring him to West London. While negotiations haven’t reached an advanced stage yet, insiders suggest this could be a transfer to keep tabs on, especially after Delap’s arrival signaled Chelsea’s intent to go bold this summer.

Aged just 22, Simons isn’t just another hopeful prospect—he’s being talked about as “one of the best 10s in the world”, as described by one social media analyst. That isn’t just idle hype. His stats scream credibility. Across a stellar Bundesliga season with Leipzig, Simons came blisteringly close to matching Cole Palmer’s goal-and-assist tally, despite playing 12 fewer games. That level of end product has the Stamford Bridge hierarchy salivating.

For fans who watched Palmer grow into a talismanic figure after leaving Manchester City, the Simons story feels eerily familiar. Like Palmer, the Dutchman had to escape a heavyweight club—Paris Saint-Germain—to unlock his full potential. With just one assist from 11 senior appearances in Paris, few expected the renaissance he’s crafted since, lighting it up first with PSV Eindhoven and now in Germany.

Cole Palmer’s transformation under Maresca has been nothing short of remarkable—15 goals and eight assists in the Premier League last season alone. Yet, Simons wasn’t far behind. The Leipzig sensation finished his campaign just six total contributions behind Palmer, despite being on the field significantly less. That raw efficiency has made him one of the hottest properties in Europe—and Chelsea seem determined not to miss out.

The question on many lips is: can Simons and Palmer co-exist in the same squad? The answer appears to be a resounding yes. While both thrive centrally, Simons has shown incredible adaptability. He’s played down the left wing frequently—racking up 35 goal contributions from 59 games in that position. His versatility could prove crucial in helping Maresca build a fluid, devastating front line.

If the transfer does go through, Chelsea may suddenly boast one of the most fearsome attacking duos in Europe. Simons’ total of 77 goal contributions already at just 22, across elite competitions in the Netherlands and Germany, is a testament to his consistency and creativity.

Maresca, backed by BlueCo, appears determined to create a squad overflowing with world-class firepower. The addition of Simons could ease the burden on Palmer while propelling Chelsea toward deeper Champions League runs. And with the Club World Cup offering the perfect platform to integrate stars old and new, the timing couldn’t be more perfect.

Chelsea’s summer narrative is shifting from hopeful to electric. Fans might soon witness the dawn of a new attacking dynasty, led by two of Europe’s most scintillating number 10s. If Palmer was the spark last season, Simons could very well be the inferno that follows.
