After reaching the NBA Finals, the Indiana Pacers are entering the offseason with optimism, even though Tyrese Haliburton’s torn Achilles has raised questions about their chances next year.
Despite the setback, the franchise remains confident in its core and strong supporting cast. Andrew Nembhard is expected to take on a larger offensive role as they aim to maintain momentum.
Ahead of the June 30 opening of NBA free agency, Indiana extended qualifying offers to Isaiah Jackson, Quenton Jackson, and Enrique Freeman.
Isaiah Jackson, who was limited to just five games last season due to a torn Achilles, could still play a valuable role backing up Myles Turner — assuming Turner re-signs. Quenton Jackson and Freeman, both previously on two-way contracts, are likely to return alongside second-round draft pick Kam Jones.
The Pacers also exercised their $2.9 million team option on Tony Bradley. While Bradley’s deal is non-guaranteed, the move signals Indiana’s belief in his ability to contribute off the bench with rebounding and floor spacing.
Bradley saw limited time during the regular season, averaging 4.4 points in 14 appearances, and was featured in Games 5 through 7 of the Finals before a hip injury sidelined him for most of the playoffs.
Although Haliburton’s absence may impact the Pacers’ performance in the upcoming season, the front office seems committed to retaining its depth and keeping the roster intact.
