It’s that time of year again—when grown men start acting like kids.
Tyreek Hill is on a mission this offseason to return to the dominant form he showed two years ago, when he led the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. After a season that marked his worst since his rookie year, the Miami Dolphins’ star wideout has been grinding to bounce back.
Following two wrist surgeries, Hill has been training relentlessly. He’s taken part in sprint races and is frequently seen in videos working out alongside other NFL receivers, quarterbacks, and cornerbacks.
But during a recent workout, Hill found himself on the wrong end of a highlight—and not in the way you’d expect. A now-viral clip reveals that while Hill remains an elite receiver, he certainly won’t be fixing the Dolphins’ cornerback concerns. The full footage can be found here.
“Tyreek Hill is not the answer at cornerback for the Dolphins,” the report bluntly states.
And Hill himself admitted it, saying his coverage of Titans undrafted rookie Xavier Restrepo ‘reeked.’ Of course, Hill has made a name for himself leaving defenders in the dust, but this time, the tables were turned.
This isn’t Hill’s first time being outmatched while playing defense. There are multiple videos from youth camps showing him getting burned by nimble kids—boys and girls alike. That playful side of Hill is exactly what many Dolphins fans admire about him.
It’s unfortunate that Hill can’t maintain this fun, competitive energy all the time. If he could, his impact on the Dolphins might be even greater. Despite his All-Pro talent, lingering offseason issues have often overshadowed his career.
With training camp set to begin next week, Hill and the rest of the Dolphins’ veterans will soon turn their attention to the upcoming season. Hopefully, Hill brings the same fire we saw in that viral moment—just without stirring the pot this time.
