Chelsea is taking proactive steps to secure their initial acquisition under Enzo Maresca, a player who could significantly contribute to their new phase. Maresca is reportedly keen on three fresh additions at Stamford Bridge: a goalkeeper, a left-back, and a forward.
To finance these transactions, it appears that four Chelsea players may already be on their way out. There’s expected to be significant changes at the club this summer, yet fans are eager for Chelsea’s management to understand the importance of maintaining some continuity.
Even though Mauricio Pochettino’s exit remains contentious, he laid a strong foundation for future success last season, which the club should not completely overhaul. However, a minor adjustment in personnel is necessary as Chelsea aims to shift their playing style towards emphasizing positional play and ball retention.
Additionally, there are evident deficiencies in the team that must be addressed this summer, notably the inadequacies in the club’s goalkeeping section, which cannot be overlooked.

Thankfully, journalist Rudy Galetti reports that Chelsea has recently contacted FC Porto regarding the acquisition of goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
Providing an update on X, Galetti mentioned that Porto is willing to sell the 24-year-old if they receive a suitable offer.
He explained: “Diogo Costa has been approached by Chelsea, which are looking for a new goalkeeper.
“Porto are open to selling the Portugal GK in the summer, in case an offer is deemed satisfactory.
“Other EPL clubs – like Man City – showed an interest in him.”

Costa is said to have a £67 million release clause in his contract, a figure that Chelsea will likely seek to negotiate down. While he is a talented player, Chelsea might be hesitant to make another substantial investment in a goalkeeper after their challenges with Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Maybe the Spaniard’s future will influence any decision, especially since he is expected to return from his loan spell at Real Madrid.
Back in February last year, when Graham Potter was leading the team, Diogo Costa was reportedly on Chelsea’s radar. Both Sanchez and Costa were considered potential options at that time, indicating that some at Chelsea might now have second thoughts about their previous choices.
Having said that, Chelsea have identified a new Argentine full-back as a target for this summer.
