Maresca’s Talks Heat Up as PSG Targets £100K-Per-Week Chelsea Ace!

Enzo Maresca, Chelsea’s new head coach, and the club’s leadership are gearing up for crucial discussions regarding the future of a star player earning £100,000 per week.

This player is attracting interest from Paris-Saint Germain in Ligue 1 and Liverpool in the Premier League during this summer’s transfer window.

Under Maresca’s potential changes, several Chelsea players could be on the chopping block. Among them are Romelu Lukaku, Armando Broja, Ian Maatsen, Conor Gallagher, Malang Sarr, and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Lukaku and Broja, both strikers, might be replaced by new signings like RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, a target not only for Chelsea but also for rivals like Arsenal.

Maatsen, a left-back, is likely to move to Germany, possibly to Borussia Dortmund or Bayern Munich. Despite Gallagher’s valuable contributions, Chelsea may sell him to address financial concerns and meet PSR’s demands by profiting from academy graduates.

Players like Sarr and Arrizabalaga, who have seen limited playtime, could also be part of Chelsea’s transfer list this summer. Maresca’s evaluation of his squad may lead to more names being added.

Levi Colwill, a key figure under Pochettino, is attracting interest due to his consistent performances and academy background. Chelsea’s discussions with Maresca will also focus on Colwill’s future, with PSG and Liverpool eyeing the 21-year-old.

PSG seeks defensive reinforcements for their Champions League ambitions, while Liverpool considers Colwill as a potential long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk.

“I think the best example of courage was Colwill in this game,” said former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi on Colwill.

“We defended man-to-man and Colwill’s man was Odegaard. Colwill went 90 minutes to defend with Odegaard 80 metres from Jason Steele. This is courage. I would like to work with him for another two, three, four years because it’s difficult to find another left centre-back with his qualities. “He’s a good guy, he’s improving a lot. This year his improvement has been fantastic and I hope he can stay with us.”
