Alexander Isak, the Swedish striker for Newcastle United, has addressed rumours surrounding a £150 million price tag, affirming his dedication to his current club despite ongoing transfer speculation.
Isak, who scored once more in Newcastle’s 2-0 victory over Manchester United on Monday, has netted in six consecutive matches, bringing his December total to eight goals under Eddie Howe’s management.
Amid reports suggesting Arsenal may target Isak for a £150m fee, the striker remained focused on his role at Newcastle. Speaking after the Manchester United match, Sky Sports host Dave Jones inquired about the £150m valuation, to which Isak responded, “No, it doesn’t really faze me too much. I think that’s more for you guys and for fans to talk about. I’m in the middle of the season and I think it’s going really well for me and the team, so, you know, all my focus is here and I’m really happy with how things are going. My focus is on the pitch.”
Former Liverpool star and current pundit Jamie Carragher expressed admiration for Isak, stating, “Alexander, I absolutely adore you. I think you’re a fantastic player and if I had £150million, I’d pay it to have you at any club!”
Isak’s remarkable form has seen him score against several top teams, including Liverpool, Brentford, Leicester City, and Manchester United. With five consecutive wins, Newcastle is now back in the Premier League’s top five, continuing their strong campaign.
