Anthony Edwards’ girlfriend, Shannon Jackson, recently opened up about his children with other women and her acceptance of it. She explained that she, too, has children from previous relationships, and their current relationship wonโt end because Edwards had children outside of it.
“They say I’m one of Godโs strongest soldiers. Put me on the frontline. They say ‘un-baby daddy him.’ If I gotta un-baby daddy him, I gotta un-baby daddy the first one! Y’all just finding out…”
While fans might be tempted to weigh in on such personal matters, the couple appears to be prioritizing their relationship despite any past relationships. Itโs commendable to see Edwards and Jackson navigating these sensitive matters with maturity.
Edwards welcomed a baby girl last year with Jackson, a moment that was documented in the Netflix show Starting 5, where he even left a Timberwolves game at half-time to witness her birth. Additionally, he reportedly had a child with another woman recently.
Furthermore, Edwards recently requested a paternity test from model Ayesha Howard, the former partner of rapper Lil Baby, concerning a child who could be his. This step reflects his intention to bring clarity to his family situation as he transitions into independent adulthood.
With his family affairs seemingly in order, Edwards can now turn his attention back to the NBA season. The Timberwolves have had a balanced start to the 2024-25 campaign, with an initial loss to the Lakers followed by a victory over the Sacramento Kings.
Despite the 110-103 loss to the Lakers, Edwards delivered an impressive 27 points, six rebounds, and three assists. His shooting, though, was less efficient than usual, hitting 10-25 from the field and 5-13 from beyond the arc. In the close 117-115 win against the Kings, he posted a similar stat line of 32 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, while showing improvement by getting to the free-throw line seven times and converting all his attempts.
Currently recognized as one of the NBA’s standout talents, Edwards faces high expectations. For the Timberwolves to compete in the Western Conference, he will need to elevate his performance, especially as they adjust to roster changes like Karl-Anthony Townsโ departure and the addition of Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo.
