Arsenal have “launched an internal inquiry” after UFC star Conor McGregor kicked Bukayo Saka. McGregor gained access to the Arsenal pitch after last week’s Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain.
Footage shared online showed McGregor playing with Arsenal players Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, with Saka warning McGregor as the UFC star kicked and grappled with him during the encounter. Although Saka laughed off the situation, he appeared uncomfortable, as McGregor aimed kicks at his knees and acted as if he might lift Saka by the waist.
This incident reportedly embarrassed Arsenal officials, as McGregor accessed the field without permission and was later asked to return inside once security intervened. McGregor had attended the 2-0 victory over PSG using last-minute VIP tickets from a third-party provider, facilitated by 1 Access, a hospitality company with a box at Emirates Stadium.
Itโs believed Arsenal is reviewing the practice of allowing corporate guests to mingle with players post-match and attempting to distance themselves from the “McGregor brand,” especially given his history of assault and recent controversies, including remarks on immigration that drew criticism from Micheal Martin, Irelandโs deputy prime minister.
