Arsenal is reportedly exploring a potential swap deal that could address two key objectives simultaneously: acquiring a replacement for Liverpoolโs Mohamed Salah and offloading Eddie Nketiah.
Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo has emerged as a target for both Arsenal and Liverpool, the latter considering him as a successor to Salah.
The 24-year-old Mbeumo, known for his speed and versatility on the wing, scored nine goals and provided six assists for Brentford last season, making him a valuable asset for any top club.
Arsenal’s need for an alternative winger to Bukayo Saka is pressing, given Saka’s heavy workload last season which often saw him play through fatigue and minor injuries. Mbeumo could provide the necessary depth and competition, ensuring Saka gets the rest he needs without compromising the teamโs performance.
Additionally, with Reiss Nelson expected to leave, securing a player of Mbeumoโs caliber would be a strategic move for Arsenal’s frontline.
Eddie Nketiah, who is keen to secure more game time, could be the perfect bargaining chip. Brentford has shown interest in Nketiah, and a swap deal involving Mbeumo could benefit both clubs.
Nketiahโs departure would also help Arsenal streamline their squad, allowing them to focus resources on other areas of need.
