The athletics community has come together to celebrate Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield following the announcement of their engagement.

Lyles proposed to Bromfield in a vibrant ceremony surrounded by friends and family, and the news was met with an outpouring of well-wishes from fellow athletes and even rivals, wishing the couple all the best as they embark on this new chapter.

Gabby Thomas, a three-time Olympic champion, shared her happiness, saying: “CONGRATS!!! I am so happy for you both!! Such a beautiful and blessed couple.”

Dina Asher-Smith, Britain’s fastest woman, who now resides and trains in the United States, also expressed her joy: “Congratulations, so happy for both of you xx.”

Talitha Diggs, who was in attendance at the event, added: “Forever looks good on y’all.”

Other notable athletes, including Olympic 100m hurdles champion Masai Russell and former 800m champion Athing Mu, who recently got engaged herself, shared their excitement. Russell posted, “OMGGGGG CONGRATS,” while Mu commented, “I love ❤️.”

The congratulations continued with British Olympians Keely Hodgkinson and Daryll Neita, as well as American sprinting legends Allyson Felix and Justin Gatlin. Felix simply wrote, “Congratulations,” and Gatlin added, “Major congrats.”

Even Alexis Ohanian, who recently organized the successful Athlos women’s-only track event, chimed in with a “Congrats” on X.

Lyles expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support, posting on Instagram: “Thank you, guys, for being part of our moment.”
