Chris Banjo, the assistant special teams coach for the Denver Broncos, recently had a virtual interview with San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch for their special teams coordinator position. Banjo, 34, is in his second season with the Broncos after a 10-year playing career as a safety and special teams contributor with teams like the Green Bay Packers (2013–2016), New Orleans Saints (2016–2018), and Arizona Cardinals (2019–2022).
The 49ers are looking for a new special teams coordinator after firing Brian Schneider on January 6, 2025. They have also interviewed Detroit Lions assistant special teams coach Jett Modkins for the role.
There’s currently no confirmed information about Banjo interviewing for the Cowboys’ special teams coordinator position.
