For Bukayo Saka, Arsenalโs failure to hold onto two leads in their 2-2 draw against Liverpool was due to inconsistency.
The Gunners took the lead twice on Sunday, with Saka scoring in the ninth minute, followed by Mikel Merino’s first goal for Arsenal just before halftime.
However, Liverpool responded with two equalizers, as Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah each found the net on either side of halftime.
Saka, who reached his 50th Premier League goal in the first half, reflected on the game, saying Arsenal dominated the first half but were outplayed in the second.
“Disappointed, credit to Liverpool,” he told Sky Sports. “We feel like we didn’t play the full 90 minutes.
“First half we showed our qualities, gave them nothing and they scored from a set piece. I can’t think of another chance they had. Second half we weren’t at our best.
“They had more momentum, won more duels, kept more possession and naturally momentum goes to them and we have to defend.”
