Nuggets Front Office in Total Chaos – Is a Major Star About to Be Traded?”

The Denver Nuggets’ delay in settling their front office situation is raising eyebrows across the NBA. Since parting ways with General Manager Calvin Booth in April—just days before the regular season ended—the organization has yet to appoint a permanent replacement.

Ben Tenzer was quickly named interim GM, while David Adelman filled in as interim head coach after Michael Malone’s dismissal. Although Adelman has since been confirmed as the full-time head coach, Tenzer’s status remains in limbo.

Nearly a month has passed, and there’s still no clarity on who’s running the Nuggets’ front office. According to reports, even other teams are unsure who holds decision-making power in Denver.

That’s an alarming position to be in with the draft and free agency approaching, not to mention a flurry of trade activity already underway—including a major deal between the Grizzlies and Magic.

Zach Lowe: Nuggets Will Hire a New GM

While many believed Tenzer would eventually be promoted, that assumption is looking less certain as time drags on. On a recent episode of The Lowe Post, Zach Lowe made it clear during a conversation with Bill Simmons: “The Nuggets are going to hire a GM.”

That comment strongly suggests Denver is pursuing external candidates—possibly aiming for a high-profile name like Bob Myers or attempting to bring Tim Connelly back from Minnesota.

But if either of those options were in play, why hasn’t anything been finalized? The Timberwolves have been out of the postseason for weeks, and Myers currently isn’t working for any team. At this point, such moves feel more like speculation than reality.

Denver’s prolonged silence makes it one of the league’s most overlooked mysteries. While fans hope there’s a plan in motion, the organization hasn’t shown much indication of one.

Outside Hire Could Spark Major Roster Moves

Bringing in an external GM almost certainly means changes are coming. It’s unlikely that someone new will arrive and simply maintain the current structure.

Without loyalty to the championship core, a fresh face might explore trade options involving Michael Porter Jr., Jamal Murray, or Aaron Gordon. Even recent draftees like Christian Braun, Peyton Watson, and Julian Strawther—players Booth strongly backed—could find themselves on the trading block.

With so much up in the air, Denver’s front office looks increasingly chaotic. And as critical offseason opportunities approach, the Nuggets must act fast before it’s too late.
