There were fireworks after the Orioles defeated the Yankees for the second game in a row at Camden Yards on Tuesday night. Despite the fact that it was the last night of April, the atmosphere was reminiscent of a playoff game.

Baltimore’s roster is full of youthful, energetic players that bring this enthusiasm to the team, which is fueled even more by beating their division opponents two nights in a row. Todd Frazier claims that’s the energy the Yankees are missing.
“The biggest thing that goes unnoticed is that the energy is down again,” Frazier stated during the YES postgame broadcast. “We discussed it the other day: Where is the energy? Where is the enthusiasm? It seems like September, and they’re out of it. You hate to say it, but you see [Juan] Soto at the conclusion of the game, just sitting there, sort of perplexed.
“What’s happening with the bats? Who will step up? Nobody is stepping up right now. It appears to be the end of the world for the Yankees, but it is not; it is still April.”
In Tuesday night’s setback, the Yankees managed five hits.
“You speak about the 15 runs, but you need to go on. “You’re playing better teams now.”
The Yankees started their series with Baltimore one game ahead of the Orioles in the AL East, but they are now a game down following two losses this week. New York finished the weekend on a high note, scoring 15 runs in two games against the Brewers, but Baltimore has already limited them to two runs in 18 innings.
The Yankees will enter May with a 19-12 record.
