Arsenal is on the hunt for a fresh striker
The search for a center-forward by Arsenal has been making news for months, and as the transfer window nears opening, Arsenal can begin their efforts.
Fabrizio Romano, in an interview with JD Football, has talked about Arsenal’s transfer strategies, mentioning Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres as potential options for the team.
Romano mentioned that Arsenal’s ideal choice is Alexander Isak, but he doesn’t believe the deal will materialize for the Gunners.
Arsenal has set their sights on Alexander Isak as their top target
Romano discussed Isak and Arsenal’s high regard for him.
โThey still need a proper number nine. Sesko is a name in the list, Viktor Gyokeres has been fantastic this season in Portugal. The dream target could be Alexander Isak at Newcastle, but I donโt think heโs going to leave the club,โ Romano said. ”
The Isak deal poses challenges
Arsenal is interested in acquiring Alexander Isak, but unfortunately, securing this deal during the summer might prove challenging.
The Swedish forward is currently valued at approximately ยฃ180 million, which is likely beyond Arsenal’s current budget.
Certainly, the price tag for the striker is excessive for a club of Arsenal’s caliber, and truthfully, it’s probably too high for any team at that valuation.
Newcastle is fully aware of the value of this asset and is unlikely to part with him at a low price.
Newcastle has every right to stand firm on Isak; he’s a top-tier player. Even if they were to sell him for a substantial sum, it’s doubtful they could find a replacement of similar quality.
Arsenal may need to consider alternative options this summer, and it’s unclear which player they will target.
