Dallas Mavericks fans continue to express their frustration with general manager Nico Harrison, making their displeasure loud and clear.
During Monday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets at the American Airlines Center, tensions were already high before tipoff. Over an hour before the game, Harrison was spotted greeting people when a fan seized the moment to voice his frustration. As Harrison walked back into the tunnel after shaking hands with someone in the stands, the fan’s chant grew louder.
“Fire Nico! Fire Nico! Fire Nico!” the fan shouted, each time raising his voice.
The outrage has lingered ever since Harrison orchestrated the trade involving Luka Doncic. The chant has even been heard at non-basketball events. However, some current Mavericks players have grown frustrated with the relentless criticism.
Despite the ongoing discontent, the Mavericks entered Monday’s game on a strong run, having won five of their last six contests. Their recent success coincided with Anthony Davis’ return from injury. However, the Nets pulled off an upset, defeating Dallas 113-109.
