Ian Wright’s Unbelievable Reaction to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal Future: ‘No Way!’

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has expressed his astonishment at recent discussions suggesting that manager Mikel Arteta could be sacked if the team underperforms next season. Appearing on the ‘Stick to Football’ podcast, Wright was taken aback by the notion, stating, “Who are you talking about? Which Arteta? Is there another Arteta in another parallel universe or something? Arteta ain’t getting sacked from Arsenal. No way.”

The conversation arose after Jill Scott posed a question about Arteta’s future, asking if he could be dismissed by Christmas if results were unsatisfactory. Wright vehemently disagreed, asserting, “No way would he be sacked if he’s not in the top two by Christmas. Probably be third. Probably be third by a couple of points. There’s no way. His journey is still happening for him.”

Despite Arsenal finishing second in the Premier League for the third consecutive season, some critics have questioned Arteta’s ability to lead the team to a title. However, Wright’s comments highlight the strong belief in Arteta’s vision and leadership at the club.

Looking ahead, Arsenal is focusing on strengthening their squad for the upcoming season. The club is reportedly targeting striker Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP, with new sporting director Andrea Berta keen on securing the Swedish forward. Additionally, midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad is expected to join the Gunners, addressing the need for reinforcements in the midfield.

With these potential signings, Arsenal aims to build upon their recent successes and challenge for the Premier League title in the upcoming season.
