In October 2022, former NBA player Paul Pierce proposed a trade that would have sent Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis. Pierce believed this could help both teams address their struggles at the time. However, his suggestion did not catch on in the NBA community, and neither Durant nor Davis moved teams. By January 2025, there were no significant updates on a possible reunion between Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Durant is still with the Phoenix Suns, and the Thunder have not been involved in any trade talks for him.
