Inter Milan’s midfielder Nicolo Barella is set to ink a lengthy contract extension with the club prior to EURO 2024, as reported by Italian news source FCInterNews.
The publication expects Barella, previously with Cagliari, to finalize a fresh five-year agreement extending until June 2029, which includes a substantial salary boost.
Currently, Barella’s contract with Inter runs until June 2026, which is the same deal he agreed to in late 2021. However, Inter has been actively pursuing a new extended contract for Barella.
If there were any indication that he might be available, top European clubs would show significant interest in securing his signature.
Arsenal and Manchester United expressed interest in signing Barella for the Premier League last summer. Additionally, Manchester City and Liverpool have been long-time admirers of the player.
