New Golden State Warriors star Jimmy Butler shared his thoughts after playing his first game alongside Steph Curry.
In a thrilling 21-point victory over the Chicago Bulls on February 8, 2025, Butler and Curry combined for 59 points. Following the win, Curry expressed his reaction to playing with Butler.
“Heโs like the exact opposite player of me,” Curry noted. “I took 16 threes and he shot one. He got to the free-throw line a lot, dominated the paint. I dominate the perimeter. It has the potential to be really fun.”
Butler quickly responded to Curryโs remark, highlighting their contrasting styles.
“They say opposites attract in life,” Butler observed. “I donโt think I could be a better complement to him and vice versa. Theyโre (the defense) not leaving him ever, probably two people. Thereโs so much space with everyone else, I get the easy job. Itโs so great playing with someone like that.”
Despite their brief time together, Butler and Curryโs partnership is already drawing attention as one of the league’s most exciting duos. Although the Warriors sit at a .500 record (26-26) through 52 games, the creation of this star pairing immediately elevates them to championship contender status.
With a combined 16 All-Star appearances, their contrasting playstyles promise a dynamic duo for the future.
