Jimmy Butler is looking to leave the Miami Heat, but has some restrictions on his trade options.
Chris Mannix, a guest on “The Ryen Russillo Podcast” released Wednesday, discussed Butler’s situation. During the conversation, Mannix revealed that Butler does not want to be traded to the Memphis Grizzlies or the Sacramento Kings. โThe two teams he has basically been communicating that he didnโt want to go to, were the Memphis Grizzlies and the Sacramento Kings,โ Mannix stated.
Despite Butler’s preference, Mannix cautioned that the Grizzlies could still be a potential destination.
Butlerโs relationship with the Heat has become increasingly strained. The six-time All-Star has only played 25 games this season and is currently serving an indefinite suspension, his third suspension of the season. The trade deadline is February 6, and Butlerโs suspension is set to last until that date.
At 35, Butler is averaging 17.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He joined the Heat in the 2019-2020 season and has helped the team reach at least the conference finals three times.
Despite the situation, Butler remains lighthearted, joking about being unemployed on social media on Wednesday.
