The Phoenix Suns are reportedly eyeing Miami Heat center Kel’el Ware and forward Andrew Wiggins as key pieces in a possible trade involving Kevin Durant.
Trade talks surrounding Durant continue to dominate the NBA offseason, with multiple teams rumored to be aggressively pursuing the superstar.
Although Durant has “reportedly already decided” on his preferred destination, the Phoenix Suns ultimately control his fate and are considering offers from multiple teams in search of the best return.
Among the interested teams, the Miami Heat stand out, and sources indicate Phoenix has specific interest in acquiring Kel’el Ware and Andrew Wiggins in exchange.
According to NBA insider Michael Scotto, the Suns are prioritizing a potential trade package from Miami that includes those two players. He noted that “the Suns have recently done background work on Wiggins and view him as a serious trade asset they’d like to acquire as part of a Durant deal.”
Wiggins, who was traded from Golden State to Miami midseason, delivered solid numbers with averages of 18.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.
Meanwhile, rookie center Kel’el Ware impressed in his debut NBA season, putting up 9.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game.
–Bulls’ Breakout Star May Be on the Move This Offseason
The Chicago Bulls are reportedly close to securing Josh Giddey on a long-term extension, according to Forbes’ Evan Sidery. This development could make Coby White a trade candidate in the upcoming offseason.
Sidery reports that rival teams believe White might become available if the Bulls lock Giddey into a new deal.
Though White himself is eligible for an extension that could significantly increase his salary—potentially doubling it from his current $12.9 million—the Bulls’ decision may come down to roster balance.
White is coming off a breakout season, where he averaged 20.4 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game.
