The Dallas Mavericks recently brought in 7-foot-2 center Moses Brown on a 10-day contract to reinforce their injury-hit frontcourt. However, financial restrictions prevent them from extending him a second 10-day contract or signing him for the rest of the season.
During his short tenure, Brown delivered an impressive performance, putting up 21 points, 11 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks in 31 minutes against the Charlotte Hornets. With his contract now expired, other teams are showing interestโmost notably, the New York Knicks, who have an open roster spot and are considering him as a frontcourt addition.
The Knicksโ interest stems from their recent trade of Jericho Sims and the injury setback for rookie Ariel Hukporti, leaving them in need of additional size and rebounding. Brownโs prior experience with the Knicks’ systemโhaving played for their G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicksโmakes him a strong candidate for a mid-season signing.
