Luka Doncic has heard all the criticism before.
On Thursday, Doncic was in Los Angeles to watch his new team, the Lakers, take on the Golden State Warriors. Though he didn’t play in the game, the Los Angeles crowd gave him a warm welcome.
Before the game, TNT interviewed Doncic and asked if he had any response to the “chatter” coming from Dallas since the major trade, particularly concerns about his weight and conditioning.
Doncic quickly shut it down.
“That’s fine,” he said. “I’ve been questioned many, many times in my life. It’s just another motive to be more prepared myself. I’ve been questioned a lot.”
“I’m used to it.”
Doncic will have plenty of chances to silence his critics in the coming years, and he could begin showing off his fitness as early as Monday against the Utah Jazz, where he may make his debut in Lakers colors.
