Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca, has expressed strong support for the club’s interest in Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
The Blues are actively seeking a new striker this summer and have been closely monitoring Osimhen’s situation.
Despite their interest, Chelsea is hesitant to meet Napoli’s current asking price, which stands at €130 million (£110.8 million) due to his release clause.
Although Napoli, the former Serie A champions, have reduced their valuation to €100 million (£85.8 million), Chelsea, along with Paris Saint-Germain, have yet to agree to this revised price.
Sky Sports Italy reports that Maresca has given his personal endorsement for the acquisition of Osimhen. This development follows a recent setback in Chelsea’s transfer plans, as their attempt to secure Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid collapsed over the weekend.
