Despite moving on from Jimmy Butler, the Miami Heat still have two All-Stars on their roster—Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo. While Adebayo hasn’t performed at that level this season, adding a superstar in the offseason could help him regain that form.
One potential target is Memphis Grizzlies’ Ja Morant, a player executives are reportedly monitoring, according to Howard Beck of The Ringer.
As a result, ClutchPoints predicts that Miami could acquire Morant in a blockbuster trade this summer, forming a Big Three alongside Herro and Adebayo.
“Depending on the value of the Warriors’ first-round pick and Miami’s own selection, the Heat could potentially package those assets alongside Wiggins and Mitchell to acquire Morant,” suggested ClutchPoints’ Julian Ojeda.
Although this move would mean missing out on the chance to add one of Golden State’s rising stars, Jonathan Kuminga or Brandin Podziemski, Wiggins provides greater flexibility. He could either contribute immediately or serve as a salary-matching piece in a major trade.
“Miami’s well-documented pursuit of Damian Lillard during the 2023 offseason suggests they remain in the market for a lead guard. Morant’s ability to push the tempo and create shots would align well with Erik Spoelstra’s system,” Ojeda concluded.
