Miami Heat Eyeing $70M Guard in Potential Trade to Boost Roster

The Miami Heat could target Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton in a potential offseason trade as they look to retool their roster and avoid a rebuild.

Currently, the Heat are struggling, sitting nine games below .500 and enduring a seven-game losing streak. This situation highlights that Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo may not be enough to carry the team to championship contention.

To avoid a full-scale rebuild, Miami must prioritize adding strong complementary players this offseason, along with securing a true No. 1 option. One of the most promising trade opportunities could come from the Utah Jazz, who might be willing to part ways with several of their key players.

Collin Sexton, a 26-year-old guard, is one of Utah’s most likely trade candidates, according to Bleacher Report. He has been identified as a potential target for the Heat due to his relentless energy and scoring ability.

However, a potential concern is that Sexton’s playing style resembles that of Heat guard Terry Rozier, who has struggled to meet expectations in his first full season in Miami. This raises the question of whether trading for Sexton would be a fresh start or another setback for the Heat.

If Miami believes in the former, there are plenty of reasons to consider the move. Sexton is averaging 18 points and 4.2 assists while shooting 46.9% from the field and 39.7% from three-point range in 52 games this season. Additionally, he has played in 60 or more games in four of his first six NBA seasons.

His combination of scoring ability, relentless effort on both ends of the court, and solid availability makes him an intriguing trade option for Heat president Pat Riley.
