The Miami Heat still have two All-Stars on their roster, Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo, even after parting ways with Jimmy Butler. While Adebayo hasn’t been performing at an All-Star level this season, bringing in another superstar could help unlock his full potential.
One major name who could become available is Memphis Grizzlies’ Ja Morant. According to The Ringer’s Howard Beck, “executives are keeping an eye on” Morant, making him a prime trade target.
ClutchPoints predicts that the Heat could pull off a blockbuster deal this summer to form a Big Three with Morant, Herro, and Adebayo.
“Depending on the value of the Warriors’ first-round pick and Miami’s own selection, the Heat could potentially package those assets alongside Wiggins and Mitchell to acquire Morant,” ClutchPoints’ Julian Ojeda suggested.
While this move would mean missing out on Golden State’s young stars like Jonathan Kuminga or Brandin Podziemski, Wiggins offers more flexibility. He could contribute immediately or serve as a key trade piece.
“Miami’s well-documented pursuit of Damian Lillard during the 2023 offseason suggests they remain in the market for a lead guard. Morant’s ability to push the tempo and create shots would align well with Erik Spoelstra’s system,” Ojeda added.
For now, it’s all speculation, but if Miami is serious about making another championship run, Morant could be the missing piece.
