Fresh NBA trade rumors suggest a potential multi-player deal involving the Denver Nuggets or New York Knicks as they look to strengthen their rosters for the latter half of the season.
Initially, many analysts anticipated a relatively quiet trade deadline. However, recent days have seen an unexpected wave of major trades across the league. Luka Doncic has landed in Los Angeles, while De’Aaron Fox and Zach LaVine have found new teams. Meanwhile, Kyle Kuzma is transitioning from the struggling Washington Wizards to a championship contender in the Milwaukee Bucks.
Nuggets and Knicks Exploring Trade Options
Although the Nuggets and Knicks have remained relatively quiet in the trade market, they have been frequently mentioned in recent rumors. Neither franchise is expected to pull off a massive blockbuster deal, but both are reportedly seeking moves to bolster their depth ahead of the postseason.
According to The Denver Post, the Nuggets are actively exploring bench upgrades. Meanwhile, another emerging trade rumor suggests that either Denver or New York could finalize a deal before Thursday’s 6 PM ET deadline.
Kevin Huerter on the Move?
NBA insider Michael Scotto of Hoop Hype reported, “Newly acquired Chicago Bulls players Zach Collins, Tre Jones, and Kevin Huerter are now listed as out (coach’s decision) for tonight’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Chicago is exploring the possibility of rerouting those players via trade, league sources.”
These three players were part of the recent multi-team trade that sent Fox and LaVine to new destinations. Given their needs, the Nuggets could benefit from adding a backup center and additional scoring off the bench for the final stretch of the season. A trade involving one of these players would align with The Denver Post’s recent reports.
The Knicks, on the other hand, have been linked to potential center acquisitions since the summer. Collins could serve as a valuable and cost-effective reinforcement. While Jones may not be a necessity for them, Huerter’s sharpshooting ability would make him a significant asset off the bench.
