This determination resonates with Lyles, who noted that the term “strong warrior” was coined by his mother, Keisha Cane Bishop, to encourage the family during difficult periods. Lyles explained, “A strong warrior is a phrase my mum coined… we’re survivors. In our family, we debate why some people shoot for greatness while others are content where they are. Junelle definitely speaks to those persons that always shoot for greatness. You never have to ask; she’s not going to stay where she is.”
Lyles also addressed his comments regarding secrets shared by Bromfield about Jamaican athletes, clarifying that he only owes an apology to her. He stated that her feelings are what truly matter to him.
As he envisions a future with her, he emphasizes the importance of making her feel comfortable and happy. Lyles acknowledged, however, that he did not intend any harm with his previous remarks.
“It’s not a secret that I’ve had my share of conversations in the social space and I’ve been a hot topic for months, even years, and I didn’t go there with any ill intent… unfortunately, I can’t control how people take things,” he explained.
