Nobody’s Ready for What Jalen Green and Devin Booker Are About to Do in Phoenix

Despite swirling trade rumors, Jalen Green is keeping his cool and embracing his move to Phoenix. The 23-year-old guard isn’t looking back on his time with the Houston Rockets—he’s focused on what’s ahead with the Suns and especially excited about teaming up with Devin Booker.

Speaking on the trade, Green told the Houston Chronicle:
“Yeah, I had a feeling. They’ve been trying to trade me since last year. I’m not tripping. It’s for the better of the team. I know it’s a business at the end of the day. I really can’t handle how I feel. Whatever happens, happens. At the end of the day, I still got the opportunity to play basketball.”

After four seasons with Houston, where he emerged as one of the league’s top two-way wings, Green is ready for a fresh chapter. Now, in Phoenix, he’s stepping into a team with low expectations—but big potential.

Sharing his mindset on joining Booker, Green made his confidence clear:
“I feel good. I’m excited,” he said. “I think it’s gonna be lit. I bet he’s gon’ kill. We gon’ shock the world.”

While he hasn’t made an All-Star appearance yet, Green is coming off a strong season averaging 21.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists, helping Houston to the No. 2 seed in the West. Now with Booker’s leadership and more freedom to grow, he has a real shot at leveling up.

With Kevin Durant gone, Bradley Beal possibly on his way out, and a new coach in Jordan Ott, Phoenix is entering uncharted territory. Green and Booker might raise eyebrows as a scoring duo, but the upside is undeniable.

For Green, it’s a fresh start and a chance to evolve into the star many believe he can be. If he follows through, the Suns might just become one of the league’s biggest surprises.
