Chelsea might acquire a new striker this summer, as the team strives to strengthen their offensive output.
Victor Osimhen is allegedly interested in joining Chelsea this summer as the Napoli attacker considers his future move.
Osimhen is scheduled to depart his present club at the conclusion of the season, a decision confirmed by Napoli club president Aurelio de Laurentiis earlier this year after uncertainty over the player’s future.
Chelsea is one of the teams connected with the Nigerian striker, with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain being mentioned as potential destinations. On Tuesday, Italian writer Gianluca Di Marzio said that Osimhen would prefer a move to England, with Arsenal and Chelsea ahead of PSG in the player’s personal ranking.
A further report published on Wednesday by Gazzetta dello Sport suggested that Chelsea and PSG will compete for the 25-year-old’s services. According to the story, Romelu Lukaku could be used as a makeweight in a trade, giving Napoli a ready-made replacement for their number nine.
Osimhen is expected to cost between โฌ120 (ยฃ103 million) and โฌ130 (ยฃ111 million) and ‘would choose Chelsea’ over all other interested teams. According to the aforementioned article, the Blues want to include Lukaku in a deal after parting ways with the Belgian three years after his return to the club.
When asked about his future in January, Osimhen told CBS Sports: “There is a report going around that I am associated with the Premier League. When you’re one of the world’s hottest attackers, you anticipate this, and the Premier League is, of course, one of the world’s largest and greatest leagues.
“I’m with Napoli, I signed a new contract. I’m enjoying my time there. I think I’ve already made up my mind, I already know what I want to do in my career.
