Bradley Beal might not be in Phoenix much longer.
According to The Athletic’s Sam Amick, the Suns are currently negotiating a buyout with the All-Star guard — a move that would allow Beal to hit NBA free agency. Despite the deal not being finalized, it seems one team is emerging as the clear frontrunner.
“All signs pointing” to Bradley Beal signing with the Los Angeles Clippers, Amick said during an appearance on Sactown Sports 1140.
Beal had been linked to several teams, including the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, and Milwaukee Bucks. But with the Heat acquiring Norman Powell from L.A., that narrows the race.
The Clippers may only be able to offer Beal around $5.3 million for the 2025–26 season, but the Suns will still be paying the bulk of his contract. That opens the door for Beal to join a contender and potentially line up alongside James Harden in the backcourt.
While Beal is reportedly happy in Phoenix, the failed trade talks — including a previously discussed deal with the Heat — made a buyout the Suns’ only real option. He’s still set to receive a sizable chunk of his contract, including over $50 million in 2025–26.
